The outdoor coliseum opened in 1966 as part of the Oakland Coliseum complex which spreads out over 132 acres and hosts multiple sporting events and major outdoor concerts. The venue was renovated in 1995, with seating capacity for up to 34,000 fans. The coliseum also has 90 luxury suites and 2 VIP clubs which makes it nice for concert fans. Parking is $20.00 at the gate with room for 10,000 autos and multiple exits. There is dining and shopping close by in Jack London Square and downtown Oakland. Gates open depending on show time.
