Sammy Hagar is a NorCal native and has been rocking us since he joined Montrose in 1973. He later went solo and released Voice of America that contained the hit I Can't Drive 55. His first album with the group Van Halen came out in 1986, which was 5150. The album was named for the code for the criminally insane, and entered the charts at No. 1. The collaboration worked so well that Hagar stayed with the band through the '80s and most of the '90s. He left Van Halen in 1996 and a year later he released his first solo album in a decade Marching to Mars. Sammy continues to have a successful solo career and tourists love his restaurant and club called Cabo Wabo in Mexico. A final tour with Van Halen stopped at Arco in 2004 and we have great pictures of the show up in the EMC Photo Gallery - Van Halen 04.
The Cabo Wabo restaurant and nightclub in South Lake Tahoe is a great place to hangout and eat, drink, and people watch. He plays at Harrah's showroom every May for his Cinco De Cabo Bash. The tickets sell fast and Sammy usually brings along a few of his friends to join in and rock non-stop !!!
